Thai PM Says Not Quitting, Protest Ban To Last Up To 30 Days


BANGKOK: Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha mentioned on Friday he was not resigning after tens of 1000’s of anti-government protesters defied a ban on demonstrations below emergency measures that he mentioned would last as long as 30 days.

After an emergency cupboard assembly, Prayuth advised reporters that the regulation can be used in opposition to these violating the ban on political gatherings.

“I’m not quitting,” he mentioned. “The federal government should use the emergency decree. We’ve got to proceed as a result of the scenario turned violent … It’s getting used for 30 days, or much less if the scenario eases.”
